Scope and content

Correspondence between George Lincoln Burr, chairman of a Special committee of the University Faculty (1910) charged with conducting a prize competition for the selection of a new emblem for the University, and Bailey, Banks, & Biddle, rgarding the rules of the competition and the winning design, which they subsequently submitted. Also several pressings of the design and their working model.

Scope and content

A typewritten transcript, annotated by hand, of the Cornell manuscript of the unprinted portions of Castellion's Defensio suarum translationum Bibliorum. The transcript was made by American historian Roland H. Bainton and was collated with a similar manuscript in the British Museum. Both of these manuscripts were appended to copies of the printed Defensio. With the transcript is a cover letter from Bainton to George Lincoln Burr, with an explanatory note later added by Burr.
