Scope and content A typescript of the diary of Col. John P. Sanderson who served in the 13th Infantry Division of the United States Army during the Civil War. It includes accounts of the role he and his division played in the Kentucky and Tennessee campaigns in 1863. A large portion of the diary is devoted to his description of the Battle of Chickamauga. Kellogg Logsdon World War I letters

Letters mainly written to his mother and sister describe Logsdon's experience preparing for war and the conditions upon arriving in France. He mentions living at the 15th century castle Countess d'Cadillac's Chateau, discusses transportation, food, the Spanish influenza, pay, stocks his family is invested in, and his fellow colleagues amongst other subjects. Also included are typed transcripts of the letters in physical and electronic format.

Two letters to Segoine, one from C.A. Seward in Geneva, New York (August 7, 1860), the other from F.W. Seward at Montrose, New York (August 25, 1870). In the first letter, C.A. Seward encourages Segoine to rejoin the military, and discusses what can be done to secure an officer's appointment for him. In the second letter (housed with its envelope), F.W. Seward promises to help Segoine the next time he is in New York.
