Notes on discovery of upper Mississippi River
Handwritten notes by an unknown author. Notes mention Louis Hennepin, Robert Cavelier sieur de LaSalle, Jacques Marquette, Louis Joliet, Claude Jean Allouez, and Father Claude Dablon. Mention of the Huron, Ottawa and Sioux Indians, Mascouten or Asistieron, and Nation of Fire, as well. Two maps are also included. The maps were published in Paris by Thevenot in "Marquette's Map." The notes describe exploration of the river in the late 1600s.
Notes on Moravian missions
Handwritten notebook. Gives a history of the Moravian Church and missions and their work with Indians. One section deals with the Moravian mission in Dutchess County, New York. There is mention of baptisms and giving Indians names. Works of George Loskiel, a Moravian historian, are used to write parts of the history. A laid in newspaper clipping about the ghost dance of the Cheyenne and Apache Indians is also included.
Notes on physical measurements of Kutztown, Pennsylvania German population
Physical descriptions made using a standard form for residents of Kutztown, Pennsylvania who have German ancestry. Recorded in October 1896. Each page is for a different individual and describes name, sex, age, hair and eye color, physical dimensions including height, lengths of arms, and fingers, other physical descriptions. The back of the notebook has graphs of dimensional data of the individuals surveyed.

Of Pilgrims and Indians : a musical play
Mimeographed copy of a musical about Indians. Includes script, music and song lyrics. Musical tells the story of the pilgrims' arrival on the Mayflower and the first Thanksgiving.
On the present state of our knowledge of the Mexican and Centro-American hieroglyphic writing
Corrected draft of an address given "before this most illustrious assembly." Handwritten in pen with pencil corrections. Discusses the pictography and hieroglyphic writing of the Mexican and Central American Indian tribes. It also mentions several codices, such as the Codex Dresdensis Maya and the Codex Vaticanus Latinus 3773, authors, and the use of astronomy in the Mayan calendar.
