Printed and manuscript petitions from Cornell University seniors and others, each year from 1879-1894, requesting that Professor Wilder deliver for them his customary lecture to male seniors on hygiene and morality. The printed petition, to be filled out and signed by one student per copy, also allowed each student to express his opinion as to whether stamping was appropriate in the classroom. Also included are letters and other manuscript comments concerning the lecture.

Petitions to Congress from inhabitants of Tompkins County concerning abolition of slavery in Washington, DC, the annexation of Texas, and other anti-slavery issues, 1836-1845; tax schedules, and photocopies of articles from the Ithaca Chronicle, Ithaca Journal, Trumansburg Advertiser, and The Flag, containing speeches, letters, essays, election results and reports of anti-slavery and Free Soil meetings.
