Copy of a draft from before the paper was published. Also includes a letter from Martin J. Sampson to Mrs. Floyd Faller, dated May 9, 1960. The letter discusses the Skagit Tribes. The manuscript covers the different tribes of Skagit County, their religion, Indian legends, stories, Swinomish reservation, and government relations.

The letters were written at Mount Vernon Barracks and Fort Sill and include documents signed by Geronimo. There is some documentation of the Apache culture. Provenance note from Agnes K. Capron, wife of Allyn Capron, dated March 26, 1938, to George Gustav Heye.
