(American Woolen rebuilt the existing community of Frye Village as well as a brand-new million dollar mill). The mill buildings are visible in the left background; houses are visible along the streets to the right, behind the mill, and in the foreground.

Note the woman posing on the ladder on the right. Those ladders and the platforms they are attached to on every building seen on the right may have served as a form of fire escape.
