Scope and content

Collection consists mainly of newspaper clippings concerning Rushville, New York, especially Rushville history and the lives of Rushville citizens. Includes many articles about Marcus Whitman, as well as some about Rushville businesses and schools. Some of the articles were written by Mabel Blodgett. Also included are a few letters to or from New York State Assemblyman Vernon W. Blodgett (dated 1953) concerning the unveiling of a statue of Marcus Whitman in Washington, D.C., and a visit to Rushville by one of his descendants; and a pamphlet on Marcus Whitman.
