10 items, mainly from Newark Valley, New York, with some from unidentified places and one from Albany. Included are a manuscript recording the words to an American revolutionary song, "Sir Robert Peel" (undated); recipe for making a half barrel of beer (undated); printed handbill offering a reward for the capture of escaped convict William S. Gleason of Dalton, Massachusetts, issued at Albany, with a manuscript note on the back (May 11, 1849); certificate admitting Mrs. C. Elwell to the Sunday school of the First Methodist Episcopal Church, Newark Valley (April 2, 1876); receipt for payment by Abraham Hotchkiss for work done by Henry Leonard (August 15, 1815); receipt for payment for millwork, signed by Sullivan Hill (November 1, 1797); bill to Mrs. C. Elwell from William Elwell, Newark Valley (April, 1885); note to Mr. Whitney from H.R. Stannard, from Wall's [?] Corners, about processing a payment (July 31, 1885); pencilled note on a conversation held with Reverend George Comfort at Newark Valley on about July 1, 1874, concerning church politics (written at Leraysville [?], January 30, 1875); and an account book kept by a blacksmith, possibly Isaiah Thurber (who wrote his name on it), noting work done and names of customers (March 2, 1794-February 4, 1802).
