Scope and content

Included are excerpts and copies of letters written by Upton's mother relating incidents of Upton's boyhood and describing life in the Colorado grain country of the 1880s and 1890s; genealogical notes on the Burr family; two family bibles; a letter (2 pp.) to Upton's uncle, George Lincoln Burr; a poem written by Mrs. Upton; and a travelogue in the form of letters, including observations on animal life, botanical subjects, and geological features on a coast-to-coast automobile trip taken by Professor and Mrs. Upton (1930). Also, four honorary fraternity pins and a Cornell student photograph album.
