Letters (1845-1888) to Robert Humphreys in Dublin, Ireland, and Windsor, England, from his aunt and uncle, Honora and John Fleming, of Philadelphia, and a few from cousins and a friend in the United States, urging him to immigrate to America, mentioning the good wages offered here in his trade, and keeping him informed on family matters; letters from one friend, Patrick Taggart, mention anti-Irish sentiment in England and the United States (1869) and give a brief description of Middletown, New York; two letters (1840s) to Robert's mother, Sarah Humphreys, from her sister Honora, about family affairs and comparing opportunities for carpenter's apprentices in Philadelphia and Ireland; and miscellaneous items.
