Three letters written in 1928 to Pauline Barnes Carpenter (Manning), an incoming freshman at Cornell. At that time the freshmen were assigned an upperclass "grandmother" to ease their entrance into campus life. Katherine Baker was the "grandmother" to Pauline Barnes Carpenter, class of 1932.

Preserving the Past oral history project transcripts and tapes
Transcripts and audio tapes of interviews with members of the Classes of 1922-1941 and conducted by members of the Class of 1966 and 1997 at Cornell's annual reunions in 1996 and 1997. Also includes videotapes of interviews conducted in 2002-2003. Digital versions of some of these interviews as well as some additional interviews and transcripts are also included.
