Ninety recipes in at least two different hands, with four newspaper clippings pasted inside of the wrappers. All of the recipes are very legible and include: desserts, stewed eels, calf's foot jelly, pickled walnuts, several wines and mead. One cake recipe has the price $3.50 attached.

Scope and content

A receipt book of 94 food recipes and four medicinal recipes; all but the final leaves written in a handsome calligraphic hand. Recipes include desserts, quick breads, some meat dishes, drinks, and pickles; individual recipes include ones for rusk, blanc mange, puffert, calves' feet jelly, and other dishes. Medicinal recipes include medicines for indigestion, cholera morbis, the summer complaint in children, plus three others. Also one newspaper clipping.
