A fan’s collection of Xeroxed photographs, clippings, SST catalogs, and a signed Gone poster sent from SST Records to a fan in Maplewood, New Jersey. Also includes paste-ups and six collage pages, possibly the preliminary working materials for an otherwise unknown Black Flag fanzine. The material provides a snapshot of SST’s output from the time and evidence of the label’s dedication to supporting its fanbase’s DIY projects, as well as engagement of its fans.

Abstract

36 letters with enclosures comprising fan correspondence to Sab Grey and Mark Haggerty of the Washington, D.C., hardcore punk band Iron Cross. Most correspondence is addressed to Grey at Dischord Records’ “Dischord House” in Arlington, Virginia, with some addressed to Haggerty in Bethesda, Maryland. Also included are replies from Grey and Haggerty to fans, some with photocopied flyers.
