Scope and content

Posters, flyers, leaflets, and periodicals relating to political campaigns in Nicaragua and El Salvador, mostly at the national level. Most of the material was issued by the Sandinista party, the Frente Sandinista de Liberación Nacional (FSLN). Included are 12 issues of the periodical Barricada (one from 1934, the rest from 1979-1989), and 7 issues of the Boletín informativo of Nicaragua's Consejo Supremo Electoral (from 1989-1990).

He organized the Olympic Project for Human Rights, whose most well-known demonstration was the Black Power salute by OHPR members and Olympic medalists John Carlos and Tommie Smith. Additionally, Edwards created the study of the sociology of sport while completing his graduate work at Cornell University, where he completed his PhD in 1970. He went on to teach at the University of California, Berkeley and to advise multiple professional sports...
