The diary contains information about regular activities including attending church services, dedications of churches, ordination ceremonies, Sabbath School classes, lectures, occasional temperance meetings, and weddings. The diary also served as an outlet for her personal feelings.

Ten five-year "line a day" diaries, with photographs, clippings, and other items pasted or laid in. The original diaries date back to 1910 and end in 1965. There is also a typescript transcript of the 1908 diary. She writes about her family; school life; love of music, books, and theater; love of nature; and world events. Also, copies of articles by Mr. and Mrs. Rypins, and materials about a family reunion.
