Positive and negative Photostats of one letter from J. T. Irving to Edward A. Ellsworth dated November 14, 1833 from Fort Leavenworth and one letter from Edward A. Ellsworth to his brother Henry W. Ellsworth dated June 24, 1833 from New York. The Irving letter discusses the journey west and the Ellsworth letter describes conditions near the Platte River. Ellsworth mentions preparing documents for Congress, his father, Mormons, and purchasing a wild Indian horse.
