Scope and Contents
This series includes autopsies and a medical casebook. There are two volumes of autopsy results entitled “Notes of Necropsy” from 1891-1895 and 1907-1910. Information includes name and age of deceased, date of death, case history, diagnosis, post-mortem appearance, and probable cause of death.
The medical casebook is a narrative history of selected medical cases. The entries include a case narrative, often written daily and with pulse and temperature readings, outcome, and autopsy results if applicable. Temperature charts first appear in the 1880s. The first 127 pages of the volume are undated but are likely from circa 1872-1873. Pages 133-195 are dated November 1885-May 1886. Following these entries there are two cases dated 1889-1890. The cases are largely about sick pediatric patients but there are a few involving adult patients.
