Scope and Contents
This series consists of minutes of the Board of Managers (1854-1860), Medical Board (1869-1906), and the Medical Board Executive Committee (1897-1910). The Executive Committee minute book also includes minutes of the New York Nursery and Child’s Hospital from 1910-1911. The adoption records (1871-1897) document the legal adoption of children in custody of the hospital. It is not known if these records are complete. This series also includes by-laws and constitution, 1854-1886 (with gaps); printed rules for the staff and the Medical Board, materials on the country branch in Staten Island, 1889, 1897, and undated. Also included is a copy of the published remarks of Erastus Brooks given by him at the laying of the cornerstone for the Lexington Avenue building in 1857.
