In 1984, at the age of 15, Perry began his career in art via graffiti and street art. Four years later he moved on to the party scene that was then exploding in England. After teaching himself airbrush art, he displayed his portfolio to club owners and promoters convinced that House music needed an associated art form much as Hip Hop had graffiti art. Entering the scene at its beginnings, Perry was able to use clubland as his canvas. He created whimsical images of sexuality and fantasy that came to define the UK nightlife aesthetics of the late 1980s and early ‘90s. As of 1993 he had produced over 200 rave pieces. He’s now considered the premier artist of the rave scene and has been called the “party people’s Von Gogh.”
