Photograph of a fanciful plan of Moscow

 Collection — Folder: ? in Box 86
Identifier: 7904

Content Description

Photograph of what appears to be a witty advertisement for "Widow Popova" vodka, depicting Moscow as a nude woman wearing a tiara and holding a bottle of the liquor. Arrows indicate the positions of various Moscow streets and squares, each associated with a different part of the woman's body. Most of the place names listed are in use today and appear on the modern map of Moscow. The title of the photograph (in Cyrillic) reads: Plan goroda Moskvy, ispravlenniy po 1900 god (The plan of Moscow, corrected as of 1900).
