Biographical / Historical

Stipanuk received her B.S. from the University of Kentucky, her M.S. from Cornell and her PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in nutritional biochemistry. She is Professor Emerita at Cornell, beginning as a faculty member in the Division of Nutritional Sciences in 1977. Her career has focused on the study of amino acid metabolism, particularly the metabolism of the sulfur-containing amino acid cysteine.
