Scope and content

Partial scrapbook of material compiled by Sibley during her time as a student at Cornell University, 1899-1901. Papers include, grade cards, poems to Elsie, correspondence, some on Kappa Alpha Lodge stationary from Philip Dickinson discussing prom, dance cards from various events including the November 10, 1899 Ye Sophomore Class of 1902 dance, Class of 1902 Sophomore Cotillion, Cornell Military Hop, Navy Ball, Class of 1901 Junior Promenade. Events programs including the First Annual Ithaca Conservatory of Music May festival, first Columbia-Cornell Annual Debate, The Cornell Masque Junior Week play titled The Private Secretary by C. H. Hawtrey, The Governor-General musical at Lyceum Theatre to benefit the Students' Hospital Fund, Glee Banjo and Mandolin Club concerts of February 1900 and June 1901. Invite from President and Mrs. Jacob Gould Schurman, joke invite from American Ikephat Society. Athletic related items for sports including baseball, a program for the 1901 alumni game; crew including the May 30, 1901 regatta, newspaper clippings and telegrams of results; and football. Many fraternity event invites including from Kappa Alpha Theta, Alpha Phi, Chi Phi (Craigielea), Zeta Psi, Sigma Phi, Delta Upsilon, Psi Upsilon, Alpha Delta Phi, Delta Kappa Epsilon, Detla Tau Delta. Calling cards from many individuals including Jason Norris Oliphant and Henry Schoellkopf. A letter to Frederick Sibley from Professor Henry Morse Stephens describing his work with Elsie, also mentions attending the funeral for Moses Coit Tyler also a piece of a paper by Eloise with note from Stephens. Photographs of Sibley at Cornell with classmates and other student photos, photo from inside the library (now Uris) reading room, photograph taken on State Street in downtown Ithaca now the Ithaca Commons, photo of Eddy gate.
