Scope and content
Collection contains programs, schedules, ephemera, and material relating to the 1976 through 1977 trip to Japan to play two games. The trip included stops in Tokyo, Sophia University, Kyoto, Nagoya Aiichi University and Osaka. Includes posters for the December 25, 1976 Silk Bowl game at National Olympic Stadium in Tokyo and January 3, 1977 game at Mizuho Grounds Nagoya. Game programs, itineraries, correspondence, roster and photographs. Also a scrapbook of material regarding the trip including newspaper clippings from the, New York Times, Japan Times, and other press outlets, photographs from the trip including on the plane, around Japan, after the games, Tokyo Tower and Mount Fuji. Football (MU-3400) signed by the team. Also material relating to the 30th anniversary of the trip.

The Cornell Sprint Football team has also been known as lightweight football and 150 pound football. The team informally formed in 1937.
