Helen Pritchard's scrapbook contains programs from her performances at Cornell and in Ithaca, many dance cards and programs, napkins, a pink bonnet, programs and invitations for Ithaca High School events, photographs, and cigarettes.

Biographical / Historical

Helen Pritchard attended the Ithaca public schools and later the Sargent School of Physical Education in Boston, Mass. She began the study of music, first the piano at the Ithaca Conservatory of Music and later the harp under Maud Morgan, Carlos Salzedo, Marcel Grandjany and others. Besides being a concert artist. Miss Pritchard was interested in the historical development of the harp and arranged and delivered a series of lectures in connection with her concerts on various tours throughout the South and Midwest. During her career Miss Pritchard appeared as soloist at Carnegie and Aeolian halls, New York City, with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, with the Cornell University Orchestra and Patrick Conway's Band, and was a featured artist at the Commodore Perry Hotel in Toledo for three years. In addition, she made many radio appearances. A member of the national professional music fraternity, Sigma Alpha Iota, she appeared as guest artist at the national biennial convention in Milwaukee In 1938.
