Chocolate (née Marianne) Waters (1949-) is a published lesbian poet, early performance artist, and co-founder and editor of the important 1970s, Denver-based, radical feminist newspaper Big Mama Rag. In a famous federal circuit court case, BMR helped establish the broad definition of educational activities that governs all tax-exempt charities in the United States today (Big Mama Rag, Inc. v. United States, 631 F.2d 1030 (D.C. Cir. 1980)).
