Biographical / Historical
Trained as a military topographer, Dmitri Ermakov took part in the Russo-Turkish War (1877-1878) and then ran photographic businesses in Tiflis (now Tʻbilisi), Georgia. He traveled extensively, and participated in several archaeological expeditions in the Caucasus, leaving a series of unique photographs.
