United States National exposition (Brazil) papers
Scope and content
Items pertaining to the first U.S. National Exposition held in Brazil, at which an exhibit told the “Land Grant College Story” and included a photographic study of Cornell as an outstanding land grant college. Includes correspondence (February-December 1963) of Exposition designer Leonard Levitan with University Secretary Frank C. Baldwin and Assistant Archivist John Buchanan, concerning historical items pertaining to Cornell University, its relation to Brazil, and the Morrill Land Grant College Act of 1862; a brochure and poster from the Exposition; and six photographs showing the structure housing the exhibit, the fair grounds, and U.S. Ambassador Lincoln Gordon and Brazilian President Joao Belchior Marques Goulert near the exhibit.
