Biographical / Historical

Foreign Service officer. Harvey T. Goodier attended Cornell in 1914 and 1915. He was appointed a Student Interpreter in Japan in October 1915 after passing the examination; appointed Interpreter at Yokohama in 1918 and Vice-Consul in Yokohama, also in 1918; and various other postings. He became a Foreign Service Officer in Japan in 1921. In 1935, he was named as U.S. Consul at Fort William and Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada.
