Scope and content

Photograph album titled Musical Clubs Christmas Trip 1913-1913. The trip included Savannah Georgia, Birmingham Alabama, New Orleans Louisiana, St. Louis Missouri, Chicago Illinois and Toledo Ohio. Images show the New York City harbor and skyline upon leaving on a ship, other members of the Glee Club, the Hermitage in New Orleans, other boats and paddle steamers. The album later has photos that do not appear to be from the trip including from Long Island, Jamaica Bay, several photos of women, images of Cayuga Lake, surveying, wife Ruth Hayden, Cornell images of Arts Quad, hydraulic lab, Schoellkopf Memorial Hall under construction, Bailey Hall, crew race 1914 regatta, a choir in front of Sage Chapel, Lincoln Hall, some other images of Ithaca. Also a 1913 Class Day program, directory of the Class of 1913 compiled by G. H. Rockwell, 1914, and several pages of biographic data compiled by his son Sidney H. Wanzer.

Biographical / Historical

Charles Tice Wanzer graduated from Cornell in 1913 with a BS in mechanical engineering. He was from Ithaca, New York and had attended Ithaca High School before coming to Cornell. He was a member of the Glee Club and Civil Engineering student groups.
