Biographical / Historical

Turbulence.org is the oldest and most prolific net art commissioning site in the world. The site was created in 1996, when New Radio and Performing Arts, Inc. (NRPA) extended its scope from experimental radio art to net art and began to present works at http://turbulence.org/. Turbulence has commissioned over 200 works and hosted numerous multilocation streaming performance events, and the site includes work by emerging and established individual artists and collectives.
