Biographical / Historical

Public Affairs education programs at Cornell University in the late 1960s and early 1970s included Alumni University, Continuing Education, and the Speakers Bureau. Among the events scheduled were the Cornell Conference, a one-day conference held in a major U.S. city and open to the public, and the Cornell Convocation, also held in a major U.S. city but open only to Cornellians (such as alumni). As of 1971, the Director of Public Affairs Education Programs was G. Michael McHugh. Richard Strassberg was an archivist in the Library's Department of Regional History and University Archives at that time, before moving to the Labor-Management Documentation Center later that year.
