Biographical / Historical
Steven Muller was Vice President of Cornell University at the height of the campus unrest in 1969, including the takeover of Willard Straight Hall by a small group of African American student protesters in the spring of that year. Muller was deluged with letters from alumni, most of them highly critical of the University administration for being too conciliatory toward the students.
