Biographical / Historical

Cornell University hosted a "Cornell Conference for American Business" on April 3-5, 1963, on the topic"Common Market: Implications for the American economy." The conference focused on the European Economic Community, also known as the Common Market, which was created in 1957. Arthur H. Dean chaired the conference, and Cornell President Deane W. Malott presided over one of the sessions. Others who played important roles in planning the conference included University Vice President J.L. Zwingle, Alfred R. Crawford of the Cornell University Centennial Campaign, Director of Development Walter G. Bruska, Robert A. Kidera, and Harvey S. Gerry, Vice President of the First National City Bank of New York.
