Biographical / Historical
The University Book Club at Cornell University began in 1899 and continued for almost 60 years. It was limited to 20 members, but a married couple counted as a single member, so the number of members sometimes approached 40. In 1958 the club was disbanded and gave the funds in its treasury to the Cornell University Library.
