Trade cards concerning Korea
Scope and content
Trade cards with color images of Korea, such as the Korean flag, local dress, and images from the Korean War and other military engagements. Several are cards from series on nations of the world or flags of the world. Some of the cards include text advertising particular products, such as chocolate or cigarettes. Included are a card commemorating the truce that ended the Korean War in 1953, and a card commemorating a battalion from Belgium and Luxembourg that fought in the war. Firms that issued the cards include W.A. & A.C. Churchman (maker of cigarettes), Recruit (little cigars), Liebig (meat extract), Gum Products Inc., Mantecober (chocolate), José Sitjá (chocolate), and Chocolat Impérial (chocolate).
