Biographical / Historical

Cornell University Class of 1917, Ph.D. 1937. As a student, Henry Dietrich was one of the Department of Entomology's last links with John Henry Comstock. After graduation he served briefly as the assistant curator of Cornell's insect collection, then took various jobs elsewhere before returning to Cornell to earn his Ph.D. He served as curator of the insect collection from 1939 onward, and as professor of entomology at Cornell until his retirement in 1962.
