Biographical / Historical

Located next to Cascadilla Creek gorge in Ithaca, New York, Cascadilla Place was conceived as an institution for patients to be treated using the water cure. In 1868, Ezra Cornell, one of its chief shareholders, acquired the building as the first residence hall for Cornell University, providing housing for students and also faculty apartments.The building still stands, under the name Cascadilla Hall.
