Biographical / Historical
Cornell University began to offer summer courses for teachers in 1892. The program was an immediate success. Within a few years afterward, the target audience was expanded and credit was offered for the summer courses. Summer school courses continue to be offered today, now under the aegis of the University's School of Continuing Education and Summer Sessions.
