Biographical / Historical
The American Revolution Bicentennial (also known as the United States Bicentennial), held in 1976, was celebrated with a variety of events at the national, state, and local levels. The New York Festival Barge, which featured an exhibit on the American Revolutionary era in New York State, made dozens of stops at towns along the Hudson River, Lake Champlain, Lake Ontario, the Erie Canal, and even on Cayuga and Seneca Lakes in the Finger Lakes in the summer of 1976.
