Scope and content
Collection consists mainly of correspondence among Club officers concerning planned programs, meetings, the New York Library Association, and Tier Talk, as well as mailings to library staff concerning membership. Also included are several issues of Tier Talk. Correspondents include Arthur C. Kulp, Herbert L. Leet, and the New York Library Association.

Biographical / Historical
The Southern Tier Library Club brought together library staff from libraries in the Southern Tier of New York State, including Binghamton, Ithaca, and Cortland. Its newsletter, Tier Talk, was issued by the Binghamton Public Library. Arthur C. Kulp, at that time a circulation librarian at Cornell University Library, served as the Club's president in 1957. Herbert L. Leet, then the Assistant Director of Binghamton Public Library, was the first editor of Tier Talk, which began in 1955.
