C. Raine Pettyjohn papers
Scope and content
The C. Raine Pettyjohn papers contain bound volumes of lecture notes and lab notes for courses in engineering and physics at Cornell dating 1914-1918. In addition to the 5 bound volumes, the collection contains a student scrapbook containing campus scenes, photos of military regiments, interior shots of a frat house (unidentified), the toboggan slide, sporting events (football, crew, cross country), a photo of Touchdown the Bear on a stool (1915), a program from the 1916 Cornell football game against Michigan, other programs and menus including Phi Delta Theta items. Also includes pages from an album of snapshots taken during Cornell 1916-1918, an article from the Sweet Briar Alumnae News with biographical information, and an obituary.

Charles Raine Pettyjohn (November 11, 1896-March 25, 1982) was born in Lynchburg, Virginia to parents Mary Macon Raine and Walker P. Pettyjohn. He received a BME degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1918 from Cornell and was a member of Phi Delta Theta.
