Biographical / Historical
Dorothy Stratten was a model and actress who modeled for Playboy and had roles in several films. In 1980, at age 20, she was killed by her estranged husband, Paul Snider, in a murder/suicide. She was the subject of Bob Fosse's 1980 film, Star 80, and of Peter Bogdanovich's book, The killing of the unicorn (1984). Marshall Flaum wrote, directed, and produced the documentary Dorothy Stratten: the untold story (1985), which was developed by Playboy Enterprises and distributed by Warner Bros.
