Scope and content

Includes a letter dated January 25, 1877 from J. Cashine at Sidney Nebraska to William H. Dorsey regarding a pipe and tobacco bag that belonged to a Cheyenne chief Dull Knife. The letter mentions Standing Elk, 100 Buck, Sitting Bull and Dull Knife being shot, Senator Pinchback. Also a letter dated July 4, 1878 from George Campbell of Company A of the 3rd Cavalry at Fort Laramie Wyoming to Thomas Nast discussing a bag taken off the body of the eldest daughter of Chief Dull Knife at the Fort Robinson massacre. Also several newspaper articles about Dull Knife, including one by E. a. Brininstool from the Northwest Nebraska News.
