Colonel Henry S. Otto served in World War I and II. In 1944 he was assigned to the O.S.S. (Office of Strategic Services) and sent to Europe, where he served with the Intelligence Section of SHAEF (Supreme Headquarters, Allied Expeditionary Force). During the invasion of Germany and Austria he served with the Seventh Army, under General Patch, where he had occasion to interview some important prisoners of war, including Hermann Goering. In July 1945 he was assigned to the United States Chief of Counsel for the Nuremberg trials, Justice Jackson. He assisted the prosecution in interrogations and in the assembly of data on the German defendants at Nuremberg.
