Scope and content

Items including 4 postcards (one of them hand colored), 2 stereo cards, and a pamphlet, "Panorama of the river St. Lawrence, from Niagara Falls to Quebec" (New York, 1860?). The postcards show scenes from Seattle, Washington; Concord, Massachusetts; and the home and gravesite of President William McKinley. The stereo cards show the arrival of Theodore Roosevelt's Rough Riders (the United States First Volunteer Cavalry regiment) in Tampa, Florida (1898) and President McKinley reviewing the troops (1899).

Biographical / Historical

Herbert W. Dutch served as principal of the high school in Montclair, New York, and then as superintendent of schools in Glen Ridge. He retired in 1942, and died in 1965 at age 93.
