Rutherford B. Hayes document signed as President dated 24 October 1879. One light-blue paged authorizes the U.S. seal "to be affixed to a warrant for the pardon of Julius Fatton." Signed "R. B. Hayes." Accompanied by an engraving of Hayes.

Four of Hayes' sons attended Cornell University: Birchfield Austin Hayes (Class of 1874), Rutherford Platt Hayes (Class of 1880), Stanley Wolcott Hayes (Class of 1891).Birchfield Austin Hayes 1874, Rutherford Platt Hayes 1880, and Stanley Wolcott Hayes 1891; Webb Cook Hayes entered Cornell in 1872, but withdrew to become his father's secretary when Hayes become President in 1876.
