Biographical / Historical

Cornell University Class of 1934. Hazel Ellenwood was the daughter of Professor Frank Oakes Ellenwood and Cecilia Atherton Ellenwood. At Cornell she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority, the Women's Glee Club, and Mortar Board, the senior honorary society for women. She served on the Junior Advisory Committee, the C.U.R.W Council (and as vice president), and the W.S.G.A. Council. She was also elected to Phi Beta Kappa and to Phi Kappa Phi. After graduation, she worked as secretary to the Dean of the Graduate School. In 1939 she married Dr. Warner S. Hammond (Ph.D. 1937).
