George W. Schuyler was the first Treasurer of Cornell University. He owned an insurance office on East State Street in Ithaca, New York. The Woodcock mansion (also known as the Belle Corodry Mansion) was owned by Franklin C. Cornell, who came to live there when his father, Ezra Cornell, died there in December 1874. Standing at the southwest corner of Tioga and Seneca streets, it later became the Ithaca Savings Bank headquarters. It was torn down in the 1880s.
