New York and New Haven Railroad Company pamphlets
Scope and content
Printed text of the company's original charter in 1844, together with the text of the act passed by the New York State legislature in 1846, which allowed the railroad to extend its route from the border of Connecticut to the New York and Harlem Railroad. Also, a pamphlet addressed to the stockholders of the New York and New Haven Railroad Company urging them to bring about a change in the company's leadership in the aftermath of the over-issue of stock by the company's former president, Robert Schuyler.

Biographical / Historical
The New York and New Haven Railroad, which connected New York City with New Haven, Connecticut, began operations in 1849. In 1872 it merged with the Hartford and New Haven Railroad to form the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad.
