Biographical / Historical

Munson and Hart filed a lawsuit against Williams and Richardson alleging that they had invested in the defendants' firm, Utica Iron Manufacturing Company, based on statements that the company's finances were sound, when in fact the business was substantially in debt and failed soon thereafter. The case came before the Supreme Court of Oneida County and was decided in favor of the plaintiffs. The defendants then appealed.
